Archaeology Museum
Located in a former pawnshop founded by Wenceslas Cobergher in 1622, this museum features exceptional local and regional collections dating from prehistory to the Middle Ages.
A fabulous dive into the past!
The museum exhibits prestigious items found during recent digs, such as the lead sarcophagus discovered in a Gallo-Roman necropolis on Rue Perdue in Tournai, listed in 2012 as a "Treasure of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation" and treasures from the Merovingian cemeteries in the Saint Brice quarter, including the "Saxon Princess" grave, also listed as a "Treasure of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation" in May 2013.
