Built between 1661 and 1672, Mons Belfry was listed as a UNESCO Heritage Site 1999.

Belgium's only Baroque belfry, the building was formerly part of the town's defence system and punctuated the everyday life of the people of Mon with the peal of its bells.

Featuring 365 steps, 49 bells and rising to a height of 87 metres, the belfry is now home to an interpretation centre dedicated to its past and present, and the criteria that led to its UNESCO classification.

The tour, combining Mons municipal collections and new technologies, offers visitors an in-depth insight into the many aspects of the belfry and its panoramic views over the town.
