Set in the heart of the "Maison du Parc Naturel des Plaines de l’Escaut" nature reserve, The Forest Halt is a genuine gateway to forest of Bon-Secours (2500 acres).
The "Explor’forêt" Interpretation Centre unveils the keys to the forest ecosystem (WapAventure notebooks available for 5-12 year-olds).
Take to the air to experience the diversity and riches of the of the "Plaines de l’Escaut" nature reserve with the film "Voyage en Ballon" (voyage in a hot air balloon).
You can opt for a variety of ways to discover the forest: scrabble around the humps and bumps of "La Pic’orée" at the edge of the forest with all the family, take off your shoes at the Barefoot Path or plunge into dense foliage on the "Promenoir des Cimes", a 50-metre contemporary architectural structure.
You'll also enjoy free access to a host of amenities after your tour, including "La Flânerie de la Lisière", a 1-km family walk suitable for pushchairs and reduced-mobility visitors, and two 4-km family walks in the forest.
If you need any more info on the walks, want to discover the local produce, or find out more about the nature reserve's up-and-coming projects, our reception centre will be pleased to give you details on our 500 km of signposted footpaths, bridle paths and cycle paths, together with the natural and touristic sights of the reserve and the Wallonia Picardy area in general.
Most of this attraction is accessible to disabled and visually impaired visitors; a Joelette© all-terrain wheelchair is also available on request.
