An ideal experience for families, animal lovers and all those who dream of an accessible, exotic and meaningful safari, to enjoy for an unforgettable day in Wallonia.
At the Monde Sauvage Safari Park, the escape begins as soon as you arrive. Located about twenty kilometres from Liège, this unique park in Wallonia invites visitors to enjoy a true safari day, combining discovery, wonder and respect for the animal world. Here, you observe, learn and marvel and many visitors leave with this little phrase in mind: Tell me, tell me the name of an animal!
The setting is vast, green and immersive. Everything is designed to offer visitors a gradual immersion into animal worlds from across the globe.
The experience begins with one of the most memorable moments of the visit: the safari by small train or by car. Slowly, the vehicle moves through large open areas where animals live in semi-freedom. Giraffes, zebras, rhinoceroses and many other species appear almost at eye level, in a natural landscape that reinforces the feeling of travel.
This safari also provides an opportunity to discover endangered species, such as the scimitar-horned oryx, once extinct in the wild and now reintroduced thanks to conservation efforts. The explanations shared along the route add meaning to the sense of wonder and highlight the important role zoological parks play in preserving biodiversity.
After the motorised safari, the visit continues with a walking trail of about 2 km, along pleasant paths in a wooded natural environment. The pace changes, and observation becomes more attentive and intimate. Visitors encounter an incredible diversity of animals: chimpanzees, orangutans, the unusual binturong, majestic Aldabra giant tortoises, the fossa, and an impressive pair of Amur leopards.
The route also leads to the South American plateau, where giant anteaters, maned wolves and capybaras surprise visitors with their distinctive appearance and behaviour. Around every corner, a new species draws attention, sparks questions and inspires amazement.
Throughout the day, the Monde Sauvage offers three educational shows that are particularly popular: parrots, sea lions and birds of prey. These highlights skillfully combine learning and entertainment, showcasing the connection between animal keepers and the animals.
The demonstrations are lively, accessible to all ages and rich in explanations. They help visitors better understand animal behaviour, intelligence and abilities, strengthening the link between wonder and knowledge that defines the park.
The Monde Sauvage Safari Park is also a place where visitors can easily spend an entire day without rushing. Families appreciate the variety of experiences, the spacious setting, the clear layout of the routes and the balance between calm observation and more dynamic moments. The Fraxinus Adventure Park further complements the visit for those who wish to add an extra activity to their day.
The site appeals with its natural atmosphere, its respectful approach to animals and its ability to engage both children and adults. Visitors learn, marvel, share and create lasting memories together.
