Train World – A spectacular journey into the heart of the railway adventure
Train World invites visitors to step aboard an extraordinary experience where the train becomes far more than a means of transport. Located in the former Schaerbeek station, the oldest in the Brussels Region, this museum impresses from the very first steps. The historic building provides the setting for a fascinating immersion into railway history, from the first steam locomotives to high-speed trains, presented through a staging that is both immersive and spectacular.
Here, visitors do not simply look at trains: they approach them, walk through them and feel their presence. The visitor becomes a traveller, sometimes even a driver, in a place that speaks as much to memory as to the senses.
Iconic locomotives to discover up close
Across more than 10,000 m² of exhibition space, Train World presents an impressive collection of locomotives and historic carriages. Some are monumental, others more elegant, yet each tells the story of an era, a technical breakthrough and a way of travelling. Visitors move from powerful steam engines to modern train sets, discovering how railways transformed landscapes, cities and ways of life.
One of the great pleasures of the visit lies in this rare proximity to the trains. Visitors of all ages can climb aboard, sit in a carriage or explore a driver’s cab. The luxury of the royal carriages contrasts with the robustness of industrial locomotives, offering a complete and nuanced view of railway heritage.
An immersive scenography designed by François Schuiten
What makes Train World truly unique is its immersive and dynamic scenography, created by the illustrator François Schuiten. The exhibition unfolds like a visual narrative, almost cinematic in style. Light, perspectives and soundscapes accompany visitors, creating the impression of travelling through different eras.
The museum plays with volumes, silences and moments of surprise. Visitors hear the breath of machines and sometimes even perceive the scent of metal, wood and grease, sensory details that enhance the immersion. Train World opens the doors to a fascinating world: that of railways, trains and railway history in all its splendour. Titus looks into the future with his telescope and sees that the treasure hunter will soon find a treasure. He is happy to help with a golden tip, but first you’ll need to complete some tasks.
Curious about this treasure? Come to Train World with the whole family and go on an adventure with Titus! Along the way, there are plenty of fun tasks. Complete them well and you will surely find the treasure!

C’est une matinée qui permet une visite dans un cadre calme et adapté. Les visites à faible stimuli sont destinées aux visiteurs souhaitant une atmosphère de visite plus calme.
Afin de garantir une visite confortable pour tous.tes, le musée module sa scénographie. Les lumières sont adaptées et les sons sont éteints. Des coins calmes sont disposés dans le musée.
Un plan adapté vous présente les spécificités de chaque salle du musée grâce à un code couleur. Les endroits les plus calmes apparaissent en jaune pâle et les plus stimulantes en rouge foncé.

This year, we’ll colour both inside and outside the lines in a watercolour workshop and focus on fashion with the Maison Millefeuille atelier.
Creative Watercolour Workshop
Have you always dreamed of exploring watercolour painting?
You will learn how to sketch train carriages and wagons, capture details and create atmosphere with just a few brush strokes. You will master the use of water and pigments and work with real watercolour materials.
Together you’ll be making a fresco of drawings. At the end of the day, you will take home a notebook filled with personal and lasting memories.
No prior experience required.
