An ideal experience for curious visitors of all ages, who love learning through hands-on experiments, marvelling together and leaving with a desire to observe the world with a more attentive and critical eye.
Putting your hands on science: this is the promise fulfilled by the Centre of Scientific Culture. Here, knowledge is not observed from a distance; it is handled, experimented with and questioned. Through its interactive exhibitions, hands-on workshops and public events, the CCS transforms natural curiosity into a true engine of learning, in a lively, accessible and distinctly playful atmosphere.
From the moment you enter, the tone is clear: at the Centre of Scientific Culture, you learn by doing. The interactive scientific content invites visitors to touch, test, observe and compare. Each experiment becomes a gateway to a concept that might otherwise seem complex, made here clear and tangible.
Children experiment with enthusiasm, adults find themselves drawn into the experience, and families share moments of discovery where questions arise naturally. Science is no longer abstract: it becomes tangible, engaging and sometimes even surprising. Visitors try, make mistakes, try again and understand.
One of the CCS’s greatest strengths lies in its ability to adapt to every audience. The activities and guided tours are designed according to the age of participants, from the youngest curious minds to adults eager to deepen their understanding. Everyone finds their own pace, their own level of reading and their own way of engaging with the subjects presented.
Throughout the year, a new exhibition renews the experience and encourages visitors to return. Each theme is approached with the same ambition: to make science accessible without oversimplifying it, to stimulate wonder while nurturing critical thinking.
The Centre of Scientific Culture does more than transmit knowledge. It is part of a broader mission: bridging the gap between the scientific community and the public. The content is designed to connect research, everyday life and major societal issues.
Visitors often leave with more than answers: they leave with questions, new perspectives and a renewed desire to understand the world around them. Science becomes a tool for empowerment, accessible to everyone, without prerequisites or intimidating jargon.
The atmosphere at the CCS is defined by the energy of discovery. The sounds of experiments, the exchanges between visitors and spontaneous reactions create a lively and welcoming environment. Visitors feel free to try, ask questions and explore without hesitation.
In Wallonia, the Centre of Scientific Culture stands as a reference destination for those who enjoy learning differently, whether with family, school groups or simply out of curiosity.
