With Kayak Les Remous, the Ourthe reveals itself from the water, paddle in hand and a light spirit. This fun and relaxing activity invites visitors to share a true moment in nature, with family or friends, in the lush setting typical of the Ourthe Valley. Classic, perhaps but always rewarding. Each descent brings its share of surprises, from playful rapids and small cascades to rocks and low branches that add character to the adventure.

Here, visitors come to relax as much as to have fun, carried by the current and the simple pleasure of being outdoors.

Several routes to discover the Ourthe at your own pace

Kayak Les Remous offers several routes on the Ourthe, accessible by single, double or triple kayak, between Barvaux, Hamoir and Comblain-au-Pont. Everyone can choose the option that suits them best.

The Hamoir – Comblain-au-Pont route, covering 8.4 km, is ideal for a family outing or a first introduction. For the more motivated, the Barvaux – Hamoir route, at 15 km, offers a longer immersion, with a single daily shuttle departure in the morning. In every case, the river sets the rhythm, inviting visitors to enjoy the scenery, observe the riverbanks and savour each moment.

A simple and reassuring organisation

Reception and gathering take place in Hamoir, the central point of the activity. Depending on the chosen route, the start is either reached by shuttle or directly by kayak. The transport between the departure and arrival points is included, allowing visitors to focus entirely on the pleasure of the descent.

For groups, including school groups, it is possible to book the activity with an instructor. Along the route, participants learn basic techniques in a relaxed and educational atmosphere. More autonomous groups can also rent kayaks and complete the descent with their own supervisors while benefiting from the provided equipment.

An accessible adventure between relaxation and gentle thrills

The descent of the Ourthe alternates calm stretches with livelier sections, offering the perfect balance between relaxation and gentle adventure. Laughter bursts out when a rapid splashes a little more than expected, conversations quiet down in peaceful sections, and visitors simply enjoy paddling together.

A life jacket is provided for each participant, and it is important that everyone is able to swim at least 25 metres, ensuring the activity takes place safely.

4/04 to 4/10: every day from 10.00 (closed Mondays). Meeting point: Hamoir. For the Hamoir - Comblain-au-Pont descent (8.4 km): departures from 10.30 to 15.00 (last departure). Important! One departure per day only at 10.00 for Barvaux-Hamoir (15 km).
