Houtopia, a world of senses is a place unlike any other. Here, visitors do more than simply watch or listen: they touch, they feel, they experiment. Entirely dedicated to sensory exploration, this playful and educational centre invites both children and adults to discover their five senses in a joyful, interactive and deeply family-oriented atmosphere. From the very entrance, one thing becomes clear: learning can go hand in hand with fun, curiosity and shared enjoyment.

Designed for children from 18 months to 12 years, Houtopia is above all an experience to be lived together. Parents, grandparents and children come together around experiences that speak to everyone, without barriers of age or knowledge.

More than 80 experiences to awaken the senses

The indoor area is a true playground for exploration. More than 80 sensory experiences await visitors, ready to stimulate sight, hearing, touch, smell and even balance. Visitors observe, manipulate, test and try again. Each activity is designed to spark wonder and encourage children’s natural curiosity.

Colours, textures, sounds and lights create a dynamic yet never overwhelming atmosphere, where everyone progresses at their own pace. Children marvel, adults rediscover the simple pleasure of feeling, and conversations arise naturally around each discovery. Here, learning happens almost effortlessly, carried by play and the desire to explore.

An intergenerational place where learning is fun

Houtopia stands out for its intergenerational approach. The experiences are designed to be understood and enjoyed on several levels. Younger children explore with their senses, while older visitors deepen, explain and accompany them. This dynamic naturally creates moments of sharing, discussion and connection.

The site is both a pedagogical and tourist centre, combining discovery of the world, scientific curiosity and playful enjoyment. Learning becomes a collective adventure where everyone finds their place and contributes to the experience of others.

Let off steam and create outdoors in complete freedom

After exploring indoors, visitors can head to the outdoor playground. This open space allows children to let off steam, climb, run and experiment in a different way. Play structures stand alongside musical instruments, inviting visitors to produce sounds, test rhythms and create together.

The outdoor area perfectly extends the sensory experience: movement, fresh air, sounds and laughter complement what has been discovered inside. It is a moment of freedom where energy can fully unfold, always in a playful and welcoming spirit.

Opening times

All year round • Wednesdays: 13.00 - 17.00. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays: 11.00 - 17.00. Every day during school holidays in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation: 11.00 - 17.00 (10.00 - 18.00 in July and August). • Closed 2/08, 24, 25, 31/12 and 1/01 • Annual closure in January (after Christmas holidays).

Adults and children €14 • 65+ and disabled €12.50 • Large families with 3 or more paying children (aged 3-12): €12.50 pp. • Free for children under 3 years old

Guided tour (in French only) For school and other groups, subject to prior booking, the tour includes: a self-guided tour of the new sensory area, accompaniment by the Houtopia activity team and unlimited access to the outdoor playground.
