An ideal visit for cycling enthusiasts, curious families and all those who like places where local history becomes an interactive adventure, to enjoy near Liège, in step with cycling legends.
At the Maison du Cyclisme Liège-Bastogne-Liège, passion can be felt from the very first steps. Located in Remouchamps, this unique place in Wallonia and Brussels invites visitors into the vibrant world of competitive cycling, where feats, legends and emotions meet. Here, the bicycle is not just an object: it is a living story, told in a playful, modern and interactive way that appeals to both enthusiasts and curious visitors.
The dynamic scenography, the bright colours of the jerseys and the sounds of the races create an immersive atmosphere. You hear the cheers of an enthusiastic crowd, the voices of champions, the commentator’s call and suddenly you feel the thrill as if standing at the roadside.
The Maison du Cyclisme stands out for its evolving nature. Temporary exhibitions, renewed every six months, explore a wide range of themes and ensure that every visit offers a different discovery. The collections continue to grow over time thanks to new loans and collaborations with many collectors, revealing exceptional pieces linked to the history of competitive cycling.
This richness gives the museum a special energy: you never visit the same Maison du Cyclisme twice. The content evolves, the stories renew themselves, but the passion remains unchanged.
Here, visitors do more than simply observe. They experience. Guests particularly enjoy the variety of interactive features: virtual reality headsets, a connected bicycle, quizzes, a commentator’s booth not forgetting the original experience of riding a penny-farthing. The fun is immediate, often accompanied by laughter and spontaneous challenges.
A dedicated space even allows visitors to climb the Côte de la Redoute in two different ways, immersing them in the effort and legend of the race. Interviews broadcast on the central screen, featuring former champions and cycling specialists, add a human and inspiring dimension to the visit.
The route is punctuated with highlight moments: the historical corridor and its remarkable machines, the wall of great champions, the panels dedicated to legendary races, the rainbow of jerseys Each element tells the story of cycling’s evolution and awakens a gentle sense of nostalgia, mixed with curiosity and the joy of discovery.
The Maison du Cyclisme is also a place of sharing. Cycling enthusiasts sometimes meet former riders there, exchange memories and anecdotes, and bring the sport’s history to life in the present. These spontaneous and sincere encounters give the place its unique spirit.
Accessible, playful and rich in content, the Maison du Cyclisme Liège-Bastogne-Liège succeeds in bringing generations together around a shared passion. Visitors come to learn, to have fun, to remember and very often to return.
