As soon as you step through the doors of Autoworld, time seems to slow down. Set within the majestic surroundings of the Parc du Cinquantenaire, in the heart of Brussels’ European Quarter, this iconic venue takes you on a journey through more than 130 years of automotive history, blending mechanical elegance, innovation and shared emotions.

An exceptional collection spanning the ages

Autoworld brings together an impressive collection of more than 250 vehicles, perfectly restored and carefully displayed. From timeless classics to modern icons, each model tells the story of an era, a technical breakthrough, a vision of design. Visitors naturally move from a pre-war car with refined lines to more recent models, without ever losing sight of the great human and industrial adventure that defines the automobile.

Some cars have taken part in historic rallies or competitions and still proudly bear the marks of time, preserved as precious witnesses of their past. Others captivate through their symbolic and royal dimension, such as the Minerva Type 00 once owned by King Albert I, or the Cadillac Series 62 State Limousine used during the weddings of King Baudouin and Prince Albert. Vehicles steeped in history, intriguing both young and old and sparking the imagination of those who wonder about the personalities they once transported.

A majestic setting devoted to emotion

The historic Cinquantenaire building fully contributes to the experience. Beneath the vast glass roofs, light glides over the bodywork, highlighting the chrome and revealing every detail. The atmosphere is instantly recognisable: a subtle scent of metal, leather and mechanical history accompanies the visit, creating an almost sensory immersion.

The route naturally leads to highlights such as the boulevard of legendary cars, impressive in scale, or the area dedicated to historic competitions, where one can almost feel the tension of the starting line and the thrill of speed.

Autoworld 40 Years – Looking back to the future

From 11 September to 13 December, Autoworld will bring back to the museum the crème de la crème of more than 100 temporary exhibitions. The exhibition will feature cars and motorcycles that have appeared in one of Autoworld’s many past exhibitions and that each have a special link with the history of the museum. ‘Autoworld 40 Years – Looking back to the future’ will not be a classic retrospective, but an eclectic and surprising look back at 40 years of Autoworld. Visitors will discover vehicles ranging from pre-war models to modern supercars, including the Bugatti Type 35, the Lamborghini Miura, the rare Muntz Jet, the unique Toyota 2000GT Targa from James Bond, the “flying” Citroën DS and the Porsche 918. The latter is coming at the request of the public. In July, Autoworld asked visitors which cars they would like to see again at the museum. The answers were enthusiastic and remarkably diverse, but one thing became clear once again: supercars remain extremely popular. The Porsche 918 clearly stood out as the most requested car. We are therefore delighted to announce its presence. Each vehicle will be linked to the exhibition in which it was once displayed. The exhibition will also include a wall presenting an overview of all the exhibitions Autoworld has organised over the years. A short video will summarise 40 years of Autoworld through images, moments and memories from the museum’s history.
