Im Internationalen Karnevals- und Maskenmuseum wird mit der Tonausstellung "Binche intim" dieser besondere Aspekt des Karnevals von Binche gewürdigt. Eine Reihe von unveröffentlichten Tonkapseln sind zu entdecken.
Tonausstellung in Binche
Seit seiner Anerkennung zum Weltkulturerbe durch die UNESCO empfängt der Karneval von Binche während der drei fetten Tage Zehntausende von Menschen. Dennoch zeichnet sich dieses Ereignis vor allem durch seinen intimen Charakter aus, der in der temporären Ausstellung dank einer Reihe unveröffentlichter Tonkapseln von Flora Six und Dimitri Merchie gewürdigt wird. Die Stimmen von Frauen, Kindern, Handwerker*innen und natürlich maskierten Schauspieler*innen zeugen davon, wie jedes Jahr eine ganze Gemeinschaft in Schwingung gerät.

Anhand einer Serie von fünf Porträts wirft der Fotograf Paulin Groise einen originellen Blick auf den Karneval in Binche. Der Künstler verbindet in seinen Schnappschüssen und Stillleben die religiöse Ikonografie mit der folkloristischen Tradition seiner Stadt.
